Use this guide to get started. After that, make it your own.
Mix and match your unique colour.
- The lighter your hair, the more vibrant the tone.
- Always comb the coloured conditioner through your hair after application for even distribution.
- The colour lasts longer the less frequently you wash your hair.
- Use the coloured conditioner regularly after washing to maintain the colour.
- If you use a lot of styling products, it’s recommended to use a clarifying shampoo before applying the coloured conditioner.
- After colouring your hair, please wait at least 24 hours before your next wash.
- To minimise fading over time, rinse your hair with cold water each time you wash it.
- Using a blow dryer, straightener, or similar tools can cause the colour to fade more quickly.

WHAT IS IN OUR MOLECULES
FORMULAR
The colour pigments are suspended in a solution with castor oil for extra moisturising benefits.
This is a concentrate and needs to be diluted with conditioner to get the desired results.
NON-PERMANENT
Also called semi-permanent.
This means that the colour pigments in the liquid lay themselves on top of and in-between the outer layer of your hair.
Imagine they are small balls of colour squeezed in small holes on the surface of your hair.
That way they are designed to gradually wash out again.
PIGMENT
Semi-permanent dyes mean that they are ready developed pigments and do not need to be further activated to work.
In contrast to permanent hair dye, which needs to be activated by an oxidant inside the hair shaft, in order for the real colour to show.
CHEMICAL REACTION?
No active chemical reaction is happening on on in the hair, since the dye pigments lay themselves on top of the hair shaft. No oxidant is needed.
That also means it does not change your original hair colour and structure.

FAQ: SEMI PERMANENT TONERS
What are Colour Molecules?
Colour Molecules is a line of semi-permanent hair toners designed to refresh, enhance or neutralise your hair colour.
It works by depositing pigment on the surface of the hair, allowing you to achieve a fresh shade or correct unwanted tones without the long-term commitment or potential damage associated with permanent dyes.
How does a semi-permanent toner work?
Unlike permanent hair dyes that need to be activated to alter the hair's structure and colour, a semi-permanent toner deposits colour pigments onto the outermost layer of the hair.
This process is gentle and temporary, as the colour gradually fades with each wash.
It is the ideal solution for those who want to experiment with new colours or maintain their current shade.
What is the main difference between Molecules and permanent hair dye?
Colour Molecules is a semi-permanent product that does not contain ammonia or peroxide, so they cannot lighten your hair.
The purpose is to deposit colour, cancel unwanted tones or enhance a tone.
Permanent dye, on the other hand, contains chemicals that open the hair cuticle to deposit colour deep within the cortex, resulting in a permanent colour change.

How do I choose the right colour for my hair?
To choose the right shade, you need to consider two factors: your hair's current level and the tone you want to achieve or neutralise.
If you are looking to correct unwanted tones (e.g. brassy yellow), refer to the hair colour wheel. The colour opposite your unwanted tone will neutralise it.
If you want to enhance and refresh your current hair colour nuance, choose a colour that has a similar tone.
Can Molecules be used to lighten my hair?
No, Colour Molecules is a deposit-only toner and cannot lighten your hair. It does not contain bleach or other lifting agents.
To go from a darker shade to a lighter one, a bleaching or lifting hair dye is required, like our custom permanent-dye system Trueblend.
Colour Molecules work best on hair that has already been lightened and where the dye pigments can grab onto the surface.
What happens if I leave the product on for too long?
Leaving a semi-permanent toner on for longer than the recommended time may result in a more intense or deeper colour than you originally intended.
However, because the colour is temporary, it will eventually wash out with a few washes.
How can I make my Molecules colour last longer?
To maximise the life of your colour, consider the following tips:
- Limit your hair washing to two to three times per week.
- Use a high-quality shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for colour-treated hair.
- Rinse your hair with cooler water.
- Reduce or avoid the use of heat styling tools.
- Protect your hair from the sun by wearing a hat or using a UV-filtering hair serum.
